The Simplicity and Enjoyment of Crocheting

Posted by admin - November 27th, 2009

Crochet purses are a classic and stylish replacement for leather or vinyl purses. Not only that, they are inexpensive and fun to make!

Finding the perfect pattern for your crochet purse is the easy part. There are literally thousands of purse patterns available for free online. From a traditional
granny square bag to a freeform purse, from a ruffled handbag to Star Spangled clutch, you are sure to find what you want online. (Of course, if you want to have a
picture of Whinny the Pooh or Mickey Mouse on your purse, you will have to pay for a commercial pattern.)

Now that you have your pattern, you are ready to start crocheting. The art of crochet is deceptively simple: all you need is a ball of yarn and a single hook. With
these two things, you can create a single piece of fabric made by using the hook to loop and loop the yarn. By using different sizes of hooks, or varying the
thickness, texture or color of the yarn, you can create endlessly innovative creations. The only limit when you are crocheting is your imagination.

The great thing about making your own purse, is that you can design it any way you like. The easiest designs are solid patterns, or basic geometrical patterns such as
stripes or checks. Even with simple patterns, you can make your purse interesting by using different textures. At the more advanced end of the spectrum, you can
actually crochet images onto your purse, although you should get a lot of practice with more simple designs before tackling such an ambitious project.

Nonetheless, despite the endless possibilities, if you are working on your first crochet pattern, you should probably stick to ones that use basic stitches such as the
Afghan stitch, the puff stitch, or the V stitch. Trying more advanced stitches your first time out, such as the Tunisian Purl stitch, the double crochet cluster
stitch, or the reverse popcorn stitch could leave you with a very mangled purse with oblong sides. (Of course, if anyone asks, you can always just say that you are
trying to take crochet to new levels!) Indeed, before trying to crochet your own purse, it would probably be best to first try crocheting smaller items, such as
coasters, or granny squares you can eventually incorporate into a larger project.

Making crochet purses can be a great hobby for you. It is an incredibly relaxing hobby that will leave you with stylish and functional purses. And best of all, it will
make you part of a centuries old tradition.

Why You Must Have A Digital Camera

Posted by admin - November 27th, 2009

Do you enjoy taking lots of pictures? Taking photos is probably the single most effective way to document our lives and special occasions. In fact, you can never have
too many pictures. Your photo albums are probably the most valuable possession you had.

Memories are the only things that cannot be replaced. Make sense to you? If you have been taking a lot of photos with your family, it is fun to glance back on them and
see how your child was like as a newborn and when they first went to school in their cute clothes. How about how your spouse look like while courting? How those retro
clothes look so funny now?

These are priceless moments. The great thing about these special times is that they can now be captured in a whole new way. I am referring to a digital camera. Now
with technological advances, we can have affordable digital cameras. The sizes are getting more compact too.

A digital camera is one of those necessities in life. It’s an electronic wonder that none of us should be without. I can still remember the days before I had a digital
camera. Yikes, I’m glad those are a part of the past. Film was always such a hassle. First you have to head out to the local food or drug store, buy the film and put
it in the camera. Then you can take around 32 pictures, hoping that they all came out right, and then proceed back to the drugstore in order to have them developed.

This is a pain and a burden to say the least. Once you’ve been exposed to a digital camera, you’ll never want to go back to the old-school ways. Oh, and we shouldn’t
forget all the money we save by not having to purchase film. This is a major bonus.

You want to know why digital cameras are so popular nowadays. I will tell you why, plain and simple. Folks love the convenience a digital camera provides. You can take
as many photos as you want, whenever you want. Simply erase the ones you don’t like immediately. It’s that easy. Then you can download all of your pictures to your
personal computer. I love being able to print out my own from home. It saves a lot of time, effort and cash. There’s no reason to rely on anyone.

If you want to, you can simply download the photos into a storage media and you can bring it to a local photo shop for development. If you have internet access, you
could even upload your photos to an online photo development service provider. You can have the photos delivered right to your door step.

If you are in search of a digital camera, simply hop on the web for a vast selection to pick from. Just remember to get a decent sized memory card of at least 512MB if
you like to click a lot.

What Is A Megapixel And Isn’t More Always Better?

Posted by admin - November 25th, 2009

Most novices and beginner photographers, when purchasing their first digital camera, do not have the slightest idea what a
pixel is. Their curiosity is justified because cameras makers today categorize digital cameras on the basis of megapixels.
To understand megapixels it is first important to understand what is a pixel. Technically, it is the single point in a
graphic image. It can be reproduced at any size without the appearance of visible dots or squares. The word pixel stands for
“(PI)cture (El)ement, with the common abbreviation PIX for PICTURE”. Having a numerical value between 0 and 255, each pixel
is made of three-color channels.

A digital image that has more pixels is considered to be of a higher quality when compared to a picture of the same size but
with less number of pixels. The quality of the picture becomes even better when there are more pixels compressed over every
square inch of space. However, a higher megapixel count may not always translate into better images. In cheaper digital
cameras with a high megapixel count, the sensor may not be large, or the size of the pixels may be smaller. This can reduce
the quality of the pictures.

The computer screen is a good example of what a megapixel is like. A standard computer screen size today is 1024 by 768
pixels. This means the number of pixels in this area is 786,432 pixels (1024 pixels multiplied by 768 pixels). This is quite
close to a million pixels. If you notice, the resolution of this screen is better than a computer screen, which can be an
800 by 600 pixel.

The term megapixel refers to a million pixels. This means that a 1 megapixel camera, also sold as 1MP camera, can shoot a
picture with one million pixels. In today’s photography world such a camera is meant for beginners. The professionals use
high-end cameras whose megapixel count ranges from 14 MP to 22 MP. The megapixel count is also used to decide the size of a
print. A 3MP camera can provide excellent 4×6 inch prints, while a 4 or 5MP digital camera can deliver high quality 8×10
inch prints. This is because the resolution of a print is directly proportional to the number of pixels. Another interesting
metric is the pixel ratio. You will find the camera makers talk of a 1:3 ratio. This means that for every 1 one pixel down,
there are 1.3 pixels across. This ratio is to give an idea of the dimensions of the photograph.

Apart from the megapixel count, you may want to compare the picture quality, optics, menu system, storage capacity, and
responsiveness of different models before deciding a digital camera’s efficacy. Just looking at a pixel count does not
answer all the questions that need to be answered about the new camera.

All The Untold Secrets Of Digital Photography!

Posted by admin - November 25th, 2009

It’s amazing how far digital photography has come in the last decade! When the technology first came out many photographers
were very skeptical and they believed that it was going to destroy the world of photography forever and they were scared
that everyone was going to be able to become a photographer and remove any kind of professionalism associated with this art
form. We all know this isn’t the case and in fact digital photography has done more for the world of photography than
anything else in history.

What we’ve come to realize is that digital photography and print photography have been split into two different categories
and that neither of the two are better than each other. Going back to that belief that many photographers had about digital
photography ruining any form of professionalism, this is of course not the case. There are many professional digital
photographers who do amazing work and use this piece of technology to its fullest extent.

So How Do I Get Involved In Digital Photography?

Well it’s so simple, all you have to do is go out and buy a digital camera and start shooting! No but seriously though,
there are some things you have to know first but they are pretty basic. First of all you are going to need to get a camera
with a decent lens. Fortunately most professional cameras come digitally nowadays so you shouldn’t have any problem finding
one. The benefit of having a camera with a great lens is that you will have the ability to focus on different things in your
shots. This is the real art of photography, being able to show something that stands out and has meaning. That meaning you
will of course have to find and explain yourself through your pictures.

Benefits of Digital Photography

There are many benefits of digital photography but perhaps the most obvious is that you will have the ability to see what
you have taken and choose whether or not it is worth keeping or discarding. The second benefit is that you can also upload
your pictures onto your computer so you can edit and change them around. There are lots of different pieces of photo editing
software out there that allow you to do amazing things.

If you are just deciding to start digital photography now, then you have started at the right time as we will only start to
see more and more advancements in this form of technology in the future which of course we will have the privilege of first
trying and testing.

Winter Bird Feeding – What Seeds To Use

Posted by admin - November 25th, 2009

Winter can be a difficult time for birds as the foods they are used to eating to be covered in snow and not readily
available. Therefore, keeping your bird feeder stock proceeds can help keep your feathered friends fed.

So what should you fill your winter bird feeder up with?

Most of the seeds that you feed birds in the summer work in the winter to. You might want to experiment and see which seeds
attract birds the best. One thing I don’t recommend, is buying a cheap mix at the supermarket since a lot of the seeds in
the mix birds don’t like. Here are some seeds that most birds seem to enjoy:

1. Black sunflower seeds or block oil sunflower seeds will attract many birds to feeder and might even bring in some that
you’ve never seen before if you haven’t used these types of seats. These are the seeds that look like a sunflower seed but
they’re smaller and all totally black. These seeds have a higher oil content and a softer and easier to open.

2. Safflower is a white seed and one of the few seeds that squirrels don’t like. decedent might attract Cardinals,- and even
the Downey woodpecker and the great thing is you can put it in a platform feeder and the squirrels won’t even bother with
it!

3. Goldfinches are my favorite birds and I especially like to see them in winter and one seed that will attract tons of them
is niger. This is a teeny tiny black seed and it is very expensive but well worth it as it may cause dozens of goldfinches
to flock around your feeder. you might want to buy a special feeder ( the hanging tube type) and you can get them designed
just for the seat with small holes. You can put it right up near the house so that you can get a better view the birds.
Goldfinches don’t mind people to munch and can become rather tame over time.

4. White Miller is an inexpensive seed that’s great for ground feeding birds such as mourning doves sparrows and juncos and
you can scattered on the ground even in the snow to let these birds have a nice meal.

5. Fat is a great source of energy so hanging a suet feeder out in winter can help give your birds a little boost. you can
buy all kinds of different suet feeders some with other things mixed in or you can make your own with fat from the butcher
counter in a mesh onion bag.

Along with making sure that your birds have plenty of seed for the winter, you might want to think about getting a heated
birdbath. Water is vital to birds and often in wintertime the there is no running water to be found so your birdbath maybe
even more attractive than your feeder!

What Makes a Good Hookah Charcoal?

Posted by admin - November 25th, 2009

Just as there are different types of hookah tobacco, there are also several different types of charcoal. The first rule of
hookah charcoal is always to use charcoal specifically designed for hookahs – never use barbecue charcoal for your hookah.

Barbecue charcoal, when compressed, can release several harmful chemicals which should not be inhaled, whereas good quality
hookah charcoal should contain no added chemicals.

Good hookah charcoal should have several qualities – ideally it should be easy to light, and once lit should burn very hot
and for a long period of time. Better quality charcoal is usually packaged in foil for freshness and won’t affect the taste
of your smoke.

To achieve the most satisfying smoke, try to keep your charcoal hot, especially if you are smoking for longer than half an
hour. You may have to add more charcoal to keep the smoke thick and add more flavor to your tobacco. Always make sure your
charcoal is completely lit.

Most Middle Eastern cafes and serious hookah smokers use charcoal made from lemon wood. This type of charcoal is considered
the authentic thing by connoisseurs – does take longer to light, but once lit will last longer and provide a fuller flavor.

One fairly recent trend in hookah smoking is the so-called fast lighting charcoal which is something of a fire hazard as
lighting it usually creates sparks. This type of charcoal usually also contains higher levels of nitrous oxide and carbon
monoxide than regular charcoal.

Matching Hookah Coal to Tobacco

The hookah pipe is an apparatus used for smoking that dates back centuries ago to Middle Eastern and South Asian countries.
The hookah pipe uses a water-filtration system and indirect heat to smoke tobacco. The indirect heat source is often
charcoal and there are different types that are used to increase your smoking pleasure.

There is a type of charcoal that is often used by hookah pipe smokers as it is odorless and smokeless. What this means for
the smoker is they can fully enjoy the flavor of their chosen tobacco. This type of charcoal is often used by many bars and
lounges that rent out hookahs for use as it will not disguise the flavor of any tobacco that is smoked.

If one does not want the flavor of their tobacco corrupted by the type of charcoal they are using, they will want to make
sure to do their research carefully and question other hookah pipe smokers on what they use. Many charcoals are made in
Holland, Japan, and China and will have their only unique aromas, however, all charcoals tend to be a different when it
comes to odor. Therefore, it is best to use one that is smokeless and odorless when matching your hookah charcoal to your
hookah tobacco.

Many online stores and places of purchase will sell a package for you to use. This will include everything you need to enjoy
your hookah smoking, including the tobacco and hookah charcoal. It is very important to remember to only used hookah
charcoal in your hookah pipe as using a charcoal not designed for your hookah could be detrimental to your health.

How to Tint Your Car Windows

110,
Tinting is a very popular way of adding privacy and UV protection to your car. What is recommended here is that you don’t
try to tint the car yourself unless you are very serious about learning this extremely precise art through much trial and
error. Getting professionals to perform tinting is normally by far and away the best practice. Obtaining all the correct
tools can both be timely and expensive, learning how to use them effectively tends to come with lots of past experience.

What follows are simply the absolute basics concerning window tinting. Many other ways exist with which to tint cars, such
information is beyond the scope of this brief article. For more help look to the various online tint-dedicated websites and
their chatrooms.

1. Collect together all your materials and tools needed to do the tint job. These are:

X-Acto knife
razors
small sponges
4 inch squeegees
Bondo card or 4 inch hard card
spray bottle containing water with dishwashing soap (15 drops of soap per pint of water)
blow-dryer or heat gun
tinting film
bone tool

2. Place cutouts of the windows that are to be tinted on a surface devoted to cutting film, e.g. a glass board. Cut the film
to the exact shape of the windows.

3. Use the spray bottle to cover the side window in soapy water.

4. With the careful use of a razor remove any residue from the side window.

5. With the use of the 4 inch squeegee remove stubborn residue from the top or bottom of the window.

6. It is now time to apply the tint. Remember to leave 0.25 to 0.0625 inches from the top edge of the window tint free, as
this is the area of the windows that will be covered when the door and window are shut.

7. Using the bone tool the tint layer should be moved below the window’s inner rubber seals.

8. With the hard card, ensure that the tint stretches to all corners of the window pane.

9. Now you should try to remove as much remaining moisture from between the pane and the tint layer. This is best done with
the use of the blow-dryer or heat gun in one hand, and a squeegee in the other. The squeegee should be moved in a horizontal
fashion.

10. The exact same methodology up to this point should be adopted to apply a tint layer to the front window screen.

11. Steps 3 and 5 should be followed to place the tint film to the back window. Importantly, never use razor blades to clean
the window since the defrosting filaments could be damaged.

12. Count the quantity of defrosting filament lines on the rear window.

13. Tint should then be cut into the required number of panels to fit around these defroster lines.

14. Place the first tint panel on the bottom location, the second panel overlapping the first panel, the third panel
overlapping the second etc. Locate where pairs of panels overlap.

15. Cut away the tint film from over the defroster filaments.

What is left should be a great looking set of tinted windows, well that’s the theory anyway!
